The short version
- The calculator runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you type in are not sent to our servers and we do not store them.
- We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or payment details. There is no account and no signup.
- Our hosting provider does record standard technical information (such as your IP address and the pages you request), as explained below. We do not claim to collect "nothing" — we explain exactly what is collected.
- If you share a result link, the inputs travel in the link itself. See Shared links.

Information we handle
1. Information you type into the calculator
Depending on the page you use, this may include:

This information is processed locally in your browser to produce an estimate. It is not transmitted to us and we do not store it on a server.
2. Shared links
Some pages let you copy a link that reproduces your result. The link contains the inputs as URL parameters (for example the state, mileage and rate values).
Please be aware that:
- Anyone you send the link to can see those values.
- URL parameters may appear in the technical logs of our hosting provider.
- URL parameters may be sent as a
Refererheader if you follow an outbound link from a shared page.
To limit this, we deliberately do not put your raw ZIP code into shareable links — we store the resulting U.S. state instead. We also set a restrictive Referrer-Policy so that other sites do not receive the full address you came from.
3. Information collected automatically
When you request a page, our hosting and content-delivery provider (Cloudflare) necessarily receives and processes technical data:

Our lawful basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in delivering a working, secure website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f) / UK GDPR equivalent).

4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use one strictly necessary cookie to remember your cookie choices. Before you give consent, we do not load any analytics, advertising or session-recording scripts.

5. Information we do NOT collect
- No account credentials — there are no accounts.
- No payment data — nothing on this site is sold.
- No uploads — the site accepts no file uploads.
- No automated profiling — we do not run generative models on your inputs.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (see Children).

We will update this policy before enabling any service listed as "Not currently enabled." We do not turn on tracking first and document it afterwards.
How we use information
- To run the calculator and display your estimate.
- To keep the site fast, secure and available.
- To understand which pages are used, only if and when you consent to analytics.
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

Your rights
If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data; to object to processing based on legitimate interests; and to withdraw consent at any time (withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it — use Cookie settings in the footer).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO); in Germany, your state data protection authority or the BfDI.

If you are a California resident
Subject to applicability, you have the right to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
- We do not sell your personal information for money.
- If and when we enable advertising, that may constitute "sharing" under the CCPA/CPRA. At that point we will provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link and honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals.
- We honour GPC signals as a valid opt-out request.
Other regions
Visitors from Canada, Australia, India and elsewhere can use the same contact address to ask about their information. We apply the protections described here to everyone, regardless of location.
[TO BE CONFIRMED: India's DPDP Act — its substantive obligations are scheduled to take effect on 13 May 2027. We will revisit this policy before that date.]
Children
This site is a cost-estimation tool for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Data retention
- Calculator inputs: not retained — they stay in your browser session.
- Cookie consent record: kept so we can demonstrate your choice; expiring after 12 months, after which you will be asked again.
- Server/security logs: retained according to our hosting provider's configuration (see §3).
Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, serve the site through a CDN with DDoS and bot protection, and keep the site free of user accounts and payment handling, which removes whole categories of risk. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
International transfers
Our hosting provider operates a global network, so technical data (including IP addresses) may be processed in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism provided by the processor.

We will update the "Last updated" date when this policy changes. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will take additional steps to bring it to your attention.
